June & July 2015 | Wrap Up

Once again I didn't really read much in June and July. I don't know what's going on with me. I think I just need to stop paying attention to the number of books I read each month. I just need to get more excited for the books I want to read. I've attempted to participate in a couple of readathons recently and I've completely failed. The Booktube-a-thon started today and I want to participate even though I don't have a YouTube channel. If all goes well, I might have a wrap up next week. I don't know. We'll see.

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon
I read this as soon as I got it at BookCon. I'll be posting a review closer to the release date. Just know that I really enjoyed it, and really glad that it has a person of color as the main character. Read the full review here. 4/5

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
I finally started reading The Mortal Instruments series. I had a hard time getting through certain parts of this book. Overall I thought I was okay. I'm going to read the next book in the series. I think it'll just be a book to book basis to see if I want to continue the series. 3/5

Saga, Vol. 1 by Brian K. Vaughn
I kept going back and forth on whether to read this or not. Every time someone reviewed it they warned about the graphic nature of the comic. That definitely put me off a bit. Despite some of the graphic content I ended up enjoying it. 4/5

Looking for Alaska by John Green
I can safely say that Paper Towns is my favorite John Green book that I've read so far. Although I enjoyed the writing and the story, I didn't really connect with the characters. In the end I didn't find myself caring much for them. 4/5

Saga, Vol. 2 by Brian K. Vaughn
After having read the first one, I was curious as to how the story would continue. I read the second volume in one sitting at my library, and I liked it even more than the first one. The story developed even further, and once again I want to know how it continues. 5/5
